In case you’re wondering how the radical-left indoctrination is going: once at the end of a full graduate-level cosmology course, a student told me that she really enjoyed the class even though, as a Christian, she believed it was all lies.

For more context: the student was very nice & a good student & I really appreciated her comment! I felt like I must have been a good & approachable instructor if she got something out of the course even if her religious convictions wouldn’t let her accept some of the premises.

My point in bringing up the story is to say that instructors don’t have some magic power to change minds. If a student comes in with a strong conviction about something, they’ll probably keep it. We try to make our material available & accessible, but that’s really all we can do.
