Thread: When and how will the Senate Intel Committee’s 1000 page report on the counterintelligence investigation into Trump be released to the public?

The report was submitted to ODNI for declassification on May 15, and that’s where it currently sits.

So what happens next?
First, note that when Senate Intel submitted the report to ODNI, they also submitted their own redacted version showing what they believed to be the classified information. This was clearly done to put ODNI in a box and send a warning shot across their bow.
Trump hurried to install Ratcliffe as DNI to slow the process, argue over redactions, and drag this out until after the election. But not so fast!

Under the Speech & Debate Clause of the Constitution, Warner can read the report on the Senate floor without fear of censure.
So Ratcliffe faces a game theory dilemma: if he refuses to release the report, Warner can read the whole thing. So he may be better off to try to redact as much as possible without pushing Warner so far that Warner reads it from the floor. If I were Ratcliffe, I’d go that route.
During Ratcliffe’s confirmation hearing, Warner pressed him to agree to release the report before the August recess. That’s 20 days from now. So I think we are in store for some fireworks in the coming weeks. It’s up to us to help apply pressure and demand the report be released.
