Obviously, the potential ramifications are huge. Not only for Texas but the nation. For one thing, it would be *really* hard (and maybe impossible) for Republicans to put together a map to the White House without Texas. #txlege 3/

None of which is to say past is prologue. Republicans could start winning a greater share of non-white voters. But at present their efforts to do so have been ham-fisted or non-existent. #txlege 4/

Instead, the reaction of Rs in Texas to the state’s increasing diversity has been a fearful existential circling of the wagons. If that doesn’t change, it could be pretty tough sledding for Rs in Texas in coming years. #txlege 5/
