Everyone talks about Martials lack of goals yet his best goal tally has already matched Firminos best goal tally with less games played
Firmino at 28 in the prime of his powers has scored less goals than martial has this season despite playing in a fully functional team that’s top of the league yet martial has not been in a fully functional team and has still scored more
Before people say “That’s not Firminos role” he has has 25 big chances this season and has missed 20 so he’s getting the chances a top striker would get yet is missing chances in a fully functional team, martial don’t miss as often in a team that didn’t create for 6 months
To put my last point into context Mané and Salah have had 27 and 26 big chances respectively yet they both score for fun, Firmino has 25 big chances so again before people say “that’s not his role” he’s getting the same amount of chances yet he’s just wasteful
Everyone is so quick to criticise the fact that Martials best season goal tally before this one was 11 at 19 years of age btw yet Firminos best after 2 seasons ago has only been 12 at 27 years of age, yet the narrative is so different 
Firmino has played 30 more games yet only has 7 more goals despite being in a fully functional team and has played week in week out whereas martial played under 3 managers/systems and under one manager who clearly didn’t like him only 7 goal difference is poor from Firmino
Finally to put this info context Martial has more goals this season than the striker most united fans wanted in Kane, but now Kane has Mourinho everyone’s trying to give Kane that excuse but when Martial struggled under Mourinho for 3 seasons I heard “lazy” same energy innit
