Mafia is not an abstract concept for you to use as a base for your stories/art/whatever. It is a real, active, terrifyingly pervasive organization that exists in Italy and affects our life on a daily basis.

It’s in the small towns as in the big cities. It’s in the countryside as in the most urbanized areas. It’s in the government, in the Vatican, in the tribunals, in the banks, in the industries, it is EVERYWHERE. And it kills those who do not comply. It kills those who speak up.

Mafia does not only kill with guns and acid and bombs. It also kills slowly, so much that there is a geographic area, it Italy, called “land of the pyres” or triangle of death where the mafia dumps toxic wastes illegally and COMPLETELY UNDISTURBED.

What you need to understand is tha mafia is not about sexy tan men wearing tuxedos, sitting in fancy parlors where they drink wine, smoke cigars and shake hands. MAFIA IS A CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION THAT MURDERS INNOCENTS.

Would you tag it SS or NAZI AU?
I don't think so.
So why would you call it MAFIA AU?
Why is it so hard for you all to understand that we are talking about an organization that commits crimes against humanity?

We are not asking to abandon the whole crime/gang concept. We are asking for some basic respect for the victims, we are asking for you to get educated on a word and its true meaning, its true history, and not just the one you deliberately have decided to assign it.
