Thread for @Mwharvey and @RobMitch92
I've been pondering this for a few weeks and we need to start talking. It's too easy to dismiss the objections of @SocialWhatNow as a disgruntled outlier.

It is notable that the upper management tiers of social work are dominated by white men. Does this mean they are better at their roles than non-white men? No.
But we know that privilege works by selecting people who look and act like ourselves - it makes us feel comfortable

Dismantling privilege means we need to become deeply uncomfortable. We need to actively sacrifice, step down, and give the stage to someone else.

So it is fair to ask why @Mwharvey and Fran Leddra appointed @RobMitch92 and for what role?
Were there others?
What merit does Rob bring that others lack?
When are you going to make room for someone else?

I have worked in an industry dominated by white men for all of my adult life. Social work is no different, and when senior management bleats about anti-oppressive practice whilst openly engaging in nepotism it damns us all.
