Let me tell you about Plantain cultivation especially for my DODO lovers.
You could be profitable with plantain production If you do the right thing.
It's an interesting one esp for you that want to have a small garden in your compound
It's a thread
Retweet for your followers
It's not advisable to rent a land for plantain production..so please make sure it's yours.

Cos plantain suckers reproduce, you can either sell or even use that to expand your farm. Visit the farm you want to get your suckers from it's very important to see their parent.
Plantain is a heavy feeder you need fertilizer. It's can be organic or inorganic.
Organic fertilizer - ploughing dead plantain plant into the soil
Manure e.g poultry dung PLS do not use Cow dung
Inorganic Fertilizer- NPK 20:10:10 or 15:15:15 depending on the soil type.
Place fertilizer at a circle 4-8ft from trunk.
Pls do not make the mistake of planting 1000 suckers on one acre of land like some farmers, Honest advise 1,667 per hectare or 500 suckers per acre.
Spacing is 3m X 2m; 3m btw rows & 2m within row.
Timing is key cos wrong time can result in low yields (few hands) & poor revenue.
Suckers can be planted through out rainy season but please do not plant them during the last month of rainy, for your suckers to grow vigorously they need constant water for the first 3-4 mnths
Planting at the first rain, it will mature at the plenty season when prices are low, planting at the last rain means more wahala for deadi-body as it means you must artificially supply water to the suckers except your farm is fully irrigated. Mid rainy season is👌 time to plant.
Each grown up plantain plant would produce a minimum of three suckers and each Sucker can go for 100 naira (extra money)
You continue to harvest plantain from the plant for another 4-5years depending on land rejuvenation system and farm maintenance practices
Plantain is good business so you'll always get buyers.
