Seems important that this week's reported COVID deaths were disproportionately old/backlogged.... has the media conveyed this information to the American people?
Here's another way to think about it.

65% of the deaths with COVID reported by CDC this week occurred more than four weeks ago.

Correction. This data series is derived from death certificates. So thousands of already filed death certificates were revised to add COVID.
