I need DLF to know that TROS was not, by archetypal structure, "a tragedy". It is NOT a literary tragedy. It is a hot mess of a garbage fire. If it were a tragedy, Rey would be dead and it would have been her own fault. Tragedies have very specific patterns to them. They are
stories in which people who are flawed ignore their own flaws due to hubris or some other BS, and repeatedly disregard warnings to change. Due to their actions, people fall apart around them and things are ruined because of them, ultimately resulting in the heroes downfall or
death.

You killed Ben, sure. But you made it very clear that he "deserved it as punishment". Tragedy is not about deserving, or even righteousness. It's about mistakes and poor character choices and the consequence it has on our lives.

Additionally, the Greeks were đź’Ż emphatic
that tragedy had to be cathartic, meaning that it moved the audience to tears or other strong feeling, but that through this process, they could come to terms with their own flaws and humanity and pain and suffering, and let it go.

TROS has made more people depressed for months
than any other film I have seen.

So don't act like you're Shakespearean, honey.

You're garbage.
While on the subject of Star Wars and Tragedies, one film that DOES fit the bill is Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith! I encourage everyone to go back and watch that film, looking for the tragic architecture within the plot.

Anakin Skywalker is a tragic hero! 🙂
