Community managers have a tough gig. Executives, producers, and designers at game companies can all make or change or remove features, but the community manager has to deal with any fallout among the fans. 1/
It's not generally the CM who decides what storylines to run, or who to hire or fire, or which characters to create or feature. But they have to take the heat for all of these decisions on behalf of the company. 2/
Having a job where other people make the decisions but you take the blame - well, yeah, there are jobs like that. CM is chief among them.

Try to keep this in mind when a company makes a decision that you, uh, disagree with.
