If you ever want to see up close just how unequal our justice system is, go to your local courts whenever they reopen to the public & watch a few misdemeanor & felony hearings. Pay attention to cash bond & punishments....Then look over to the justice system for the rich/powerful

Neighbors awaiting trial for non-violent misdemeanors who can’t come up with a couple hundred bucks sit in jail awaiting trial. They serve more time before their trial than rich/powerful people ever serve even after conviction or literally pleading guilty. It’s unjust & unfair

I’m not saying rich/powerful people should get way more jail to even an unjust system. Though their crimes do demand punishment just like the rest of us. Rather, I’m saying we have over-criminalized our communities w/ regulation violations, hammering the poor. I say this as a cop
