Was diving into the history of the town I grew up in. I found it through a list of Arab villages that were taken over by Israel in 1948. Turns out it was a Jewish area literally called the Jewish, that was given an Arab name during ottoman rule because the locals hated the name.
In 1882, it was resettled for a second time by Jewish farmers, only to be abandoned in 1893 due to hostilities.
1921 local Arabs attacked more neighboring Jewish settlements and by 1932, the name was changed to an Arab name, honoring a local Arab sheik.
By 1945, the village Jewish count was around 150.
November 30th, 1947, the day after UN decree for Israel, arab village gangs attacked a bus and killed 7 jewish passengers.

December 13th, 1947, Etzel retaliated in an attack that left 2 dead. Early April 1948, an Arab commander moved his operation to the village. By month end it was reported all villagers, Jews and Arabs fled the area for fear of being in the crossfire.
On May 4th, Hagana attacked the local gangs, and by the 6th, Etzel forces where ordered to stand guard. Etzel managed to hold guard for 11 weeks until they were attacked by a large force of Arab legion armed with tanks and infantry. 14 Etzel fighters including 2 women were lost.
The final conquest of the village took place on July 10, 1948 in operation Danny, commanded by Yigal Alon and Yitzhak Rabin.
Apologies for a mistake on the first tweet, the name change was during the British mandate, not ottoman rule.
