something that's been brought up as of recent but not really talked about:

economic accessibility to rhythm games.

this is an IMMENSELY important topic that barely gets any talk regarding it.
what I mean here is:
how many of yall have access to a nearby cab that's:
- in working condition
- has the latest updates/version
- is maintained properly
- isn't leaving anytime soon

and how may of y'all have less-than-legal/obtuse/EXPENSIVE ways to play these games at home?
if you want to play stuff like beatmania IIDX at home, your only legal options are either the old console ports (which are triple-digit expensive now), or INFINITAS, which requires a subscription service and is always behind the most recent versions.
not only that, but you'll also need a proper controller, and unless you have the proper knowledge on how to build a cheap one yourself, getting one is ALSO very expensive. gam@2, official KOC, PS2 controllers w/adapters, etc.
(because Keyboards often have low n-key rollover/ghosting and can stop you from hitting some combos)

and do you REALLY wanna play Ultimate Mobile?

tbh I think there's a difference between "settling with what you have" and "not being able to play properly/enjoyably".
This isn't just IIDX, this is for a LOT of rhythm games. DDR, SDVX, etc.
all of them either require expensive controllers (with expensive shipping to boot), and a lot of people simply don't have access to that kind of dosh.
What I'm trying to say is: I live in Mexico. There are no BEMANI cabs near me. I got two PIU cabs that barely work. My only access to BEMANI is emulating the 5key games on MAME and playing IIDX on PS2.
I've been in this fandom for nearly 3 years. I work min. wage.
For a lot of people, they live in similar situations like mine. No money, no access, not even proper hardware.
How are you supposed to play these games, then?

Should we work towards making these things more accessible to others? How can we enjoy these games during the lockdown?
