Yesterday, I said I'd do a thread on whether a Macbook is "worth it"
After thinking about it, I realized there's right answer. It comes down to personal preference
So instead, here's my simple, unbiased breakdown to help you make an informed decision. (THREAD)
BudgetIn terms of simply getting the most bang for your bucks, Windows computers wins hands down.
For every level of Mac computer, you can find a Windows equivalent for a lot less money.
Look the price difference between the new 2020 Macbook & it's equal competitors
Style
The reality is, Apple products are a status symbol.
Macbooks are no exception. Most people would agree that they simply look better than other laptops.
If aesthetics are important you, you can't go wrong with a Macbook
Customization/CompatibilityWindows PC's easy to build onto and customize.
There are almost 1 million apps that are downloadable to Windows computers vs approximately 30 thousand for iMacs
Apple limits user freedom which helps keep customers in their ecosystem
SecurityApple wins this round. A benefit of limiting freedom is it also limits the amount of hacks and malware available.
Most people use Windows computers. And with it allowing so much freedom, most hackers and malware target windows systems and its users.
GamingWindows takes this one easily. The vast majority of PC games are built to run on Windows platforms
If you're a gamer I wouldn't consider Mac. Not a single Apple computer is listed in any of the top gaming computers of 2020 https://www.pcgamer.com/best-gaming-laptop/
MUSIC/VIDEO EDITINGApple wins this category due to its exclusive rights to some of the best software
Logic Pro & Pro Tools are music industry standards and are the preferred program by professionals
Final cut pro is one of the highest rated video editing programs
Blah blah blah... So which is better?If you need power and performance on a budget, then I'd Windows all the way.
If you're more about style and/or you're a creative that wants access to the above mentioned programs, then I'd go with a Macbook.
