Secular by chance is what I call some of the Muslim Twitter in India. Not a blanket statement on muslims across the world tho.

If you defend the conversion of Hagia Sophia into a mosque which was obv done under conservatives' pressure, it is pure hypocrisy. (1/5)
On two counts: Turkish history is not our immediate history. Opposing hindu rashtra cannot continue with a fascination of Erdogan who represents the ideology of the Sangh to the T.

Our history is a shared heritage of India. An experiment of two different cultures coming together, coexisting & creating a share culture. Ofc it is in shambles now.

Don't crave Nehru's Soviet style secularism if you despise Mustafa Kemal's European style secularism.

The strong voices against the Hagia Sophia verdict have to be seen in the context of Erdogan's politics

Incompetent rulers who weaponise history after they fail at governance bombard us with situations that give our hypocrisies limelight. Sounds like someone closer home?

We should aspire for societies that accept a secular order in which people don't live in a constant flux.

And let's not pretend that things are even close to being right in Muslim countries across the world.
