A Friday walking journey through green South East London.

Up through the rather wonderful (shame about the PVC windows) of the Shackleton Close Estate. Can't find out much about these blocks online - would love to know more? @MunicipalDreams @modernistestate @EwanMHarrison any ideas?
Down past the Tarleton Gardens lookout point.
SAVE OUR FIELD
And then next to the Horniman Triangle we have some of the wonderful Dulwich Estate, Austin Vernon & Partners designed, houses.
@DulwichHistory
To the very top of Kirkdale - glimpses of Eliot Lodge, once the home of a successful manufacturer of iron fire escapes...
Prospect Place - Wells Park Estate...
Up past Sydenham Wells Park (a very underrated park). Glad to see it is on @HelenIlus's London Greenground Map
Alexander Recreation Ground. Shame the bandstand and the replica roads and crossings (for children to practice the highway code) have gone.
Older photos from the excellent Penge Heritage Trail website: https://www.pengeheritagetrail.org.uk/the-trail-sites/alexandra-recreation-ground/
The 1906 Wesley Hall on Sydenham Road - looming across the junction
Home Park in Lower Sydenham. Named after Home Park Lodge which was demolished as the area became less desirable due to the expansion of the Bell Green gasworks.
Gasworks photos from this excellent Flickr album: https://www.flickr.com/photos/stevegrindlay/sets/72157603906940169/with/2264095842/
Although apparently the gasworks were useful in the treatment of whopping cough. Have you seen this before @running_past?
Then along the Waterlink Way. One of my favourite green (and blue!) routes in London.
This desire line but from the other side...

Welcome to Ladywell (but i'm actually leaving...) and the mural featuring Rosa May Billinghurst, a suffragette born in Lewisham and famous for using her wheel chair during protests and window smashing. Rare to see disabled representation like this @DrFrancesRyan
Walk to Garden of Eden on Loampit Vale - my first visit. On the recommendation of @sofiaakel. It's fantastic!

Pop into Everest Curry King for some Mutton Roti, Egg & Fish Rolls and Veg Samosas.
Going up the hill you past the Pink House. Technicolor creation of Brenton Samuel Pink (AKA Mr Pink). Lewisham Ledger have a great article and Helena Appio's film can be seen here: . I feel @Furmadamadam might enjoy...

Whitepost Lane - a "secretive little footpath" leading to Hilly Fields. #Lewisham
My final green stop is Hilly Fields itself. Helped save from development by Octavia Hill - social reformer and co-founded of @nationaltrust
Round off my walk with my first proper pub pint in four months...
Just under 12 miles...
