Of course, you can have bad-faith trolls in small groups. Many faculties have one, or two. But few are dominated by the nonsense that marks most online conversations.
I also (as I've recently tweeted) believe that the language of law provides partial immunity to its speakers from garbage conversations. One reason is that it limits the size of the natural audience for our speech.
But that said, I will admit that at least 50% of what I'm up to on here is 75% shitposting, and it results from some flaw in my character.

The other 50% is contract law, and I wish I tweeted more of it. Fewer engagements are net-net better.
