The attorney for Robert Fuller’s family, Jamon Hicks, is giving a press conference now. @LAist
Hicks says the family has “repeatedly” asked for a thorough and independent investigation into Fuller’s death.
Hicks says the family has been told that no video actually shows the tree where Fuller’s body was found.
The family has heard about, but not seen the evidence of Fuller using an EBT card to purchase a red rope.
Hicks says his law firm obtained a private investigator and an independent autopsy.
The indepdwnt autopsy was looking to see whether there were any injuries to the body that were not connected to the hanging, or if there were any drugs.
Hicks says there was a very small area of hemmorage on fuller’s back, but nothing to indicate that there was a struggle.

They also found marks on his wrist, and the family has learned that Robert was cutting himself.
The sheriff confirmed that there was no connection between the hanging and the death of Fuller’s half-brother, Terron Boone.
Hicks said he had a “difficult conversation” yesterday with Fuller’s family informing them of what the sheriff’s department would be releasing about the investigation.
Hicks says they have not found evidence of foul play at this time.

“I have no information to suggest that anything was racially motivated.”
Hicks says a phone at the scene has a password on it, which is delaying the effort to retrieve information from the phone.
Hicks says they have not had the opportunity to review Fuller’s medical records cited by the sheriff’s department yesterday.
Hicks said he received a courtesy call before the sheriff’s press conference yesterday, and he “as quickly as possible,” notified the Fuller family.
