Few things I wanted to talk about in general.

The bigger issue I have here is that people always want to seek validation from others.
Someone trolls cinemapayyan, others take part in the same activity. A lot of people don't have the so-called 'sensitivity' esp. during lockdown.

Someone gives a sermon on mental health and the next day trolls a celebrity.
People share viral memes without analyzing why some of those viral memes are problematic.

People don't respect singers (like Sid Sriram and a legend like MR) who do improv on stage (It takes immense talent) and call them out.
People call a lot of artists (like MR) overrated/underrated without any proper justification.

People share clips from 2010 films in 2020 and troll the actors (they are mostly fans of a rival actor). They don't get context nor the political situation during those times (Thuppakki).
A lot of people who consider themselves 'woke' end up supporting their friends or remain silent when those friends are at fault for provoking people here.
Truth is nobody here is 'woke.' Everybody is a hypocrite.

One person has a bad experience with someone(say bf/gf). The person makes rules for people to follow (for basically anything) instead of allowing others to decide what's good/bad for themselves. Humans really have no defined values. We are all complex people.
People tried canceling out the most problematic poet in Tamil Cinema this week. But, it's HIS work and nobody can deny him of his work. It's unfortunate and we have to live with it for the rest of our lives. But, we CAN choose to talk about only the MD and the director.
Filmbros like mocking Indian films way too much. There is always the elitism and entitlement that come across in such tweets. Looking down upon something never makes one cool. What makes one cool, in my opinion, is to be objective about things in general.
Even if you like a bad film, and as long as you have legit reasons for liking it, that's fine. Even if you liked the film for no reason, that's also fine.
Just don't go around mocking others if their opinions don't match yours.
