#BBCTransphobia
The BBC (along with every major UK broadcaster) has Zero Trans staff in senior roles in programme making, out of 95,810 across the industry.
#BBCTransphobia
#NewsNight presenters making false & harmful insinuations that transgender children have access to surgery (minimum age for Trans surgeries on the NHS is 17 in the UK, though practically inaccessible due to 4+ year waiting lists)
#BBCTransphobia
#NewsNight presenter on Radio4 Interview uncritically using the term 'Sudden Onset' gender dysphoria.
This originates from a single controversial study (Littman 2018, PLUS One) which then retracted the debunked hokum of ROGD "as a formal mental health diagnosis". #BBCTransphobia
#NewsNight presenter uncritically parroting the fabricated Evangelical Christian propaganda trope that Statutory Declaration of gender identity would lead to increased danger from "predatory men" #BBCTransphobia
#NewsNight presenter agrees with armchair diagnosis of yours truly by a Guardian writer, after instigating pile on rather than engage in the questions asked

Or this Victoria Derbyshire programme which was supposed to be on the GRA, but which was instead used by the two anti trans lobbyists on the panel to launch a campaign against Trans girls in the Girl Guides & stir up hate. https://growinguptransgender.com/2018/03/05/my-daughter-is-that-scary-trans-kid-the-bbc-warned-you-about/
I cannot count the number of times when I have seen newly created (often evangelical funded) anti-trans lobby groups named as 'feminist campaigns' while any trans person, however distinguished is branded as a 'Trans Activist' - see e.g. below examples from BBCNews
#BBCTransphobia
And also in the BBC 'feminists video' Venice Allen, kicked out of labour for not leaving a Trans teenager alone, also one of a group involved in the USA Heritage Foundation trip #BBCTransphobia http://archive.is/jD9au
There is much, much more. I don't think a week has gone by without Radio 4 or the BBC debating 'Transgender people' with a lack of clarity, inviting those lobbying against trans rights to speak, platforming & seemingly purposefully advancing an anti trans rights agenda.
There used to be a #whistleblowing Twitter account reporting on Transphobia, set up by a (now ex) BBC employee. When she talked to a BBC Diversity & Inclusion lead about NewsNight transphobia their response was: I'm not aware that there's a problem . https://twitter.com/rvedotrc/status/1275380963959279624
The BBC has to change. You need to get in the experts such as @AllAboutTrans to come in & work with you - (you may remember they helped you find your first Trans character on Eastenders, & helped make the then groundbreaking "Boy Meets Girl" happen. That was FIVE YEARS AGO.
What have you done since?
What can you do now?

Send everyone with any role in programme making/ commissioning a link to @Disclosure_Doc & a copy of "Gender Explorers" by @JustJuno1. Give jobs to trans filmmakers - have you been on ~ @YouTube? There is some extraordinary talent.
The superlative @PoseOnFX has been a massive hit for you on because it is incredible. Janet Mock is doing amazing things with Netflix, & Amazon is stepping up their game commissioning some brilliant programmes with Trans actors in Trans & Cis roles including children's TV.
If Ryan Murphy can go in less than a decade from some of the most transphobic television ever made (in NipTuck) to winning awards & acclaim for authenticity & inclusion with a team of Trans producers for Pose, then you can turn it around too. End #BBCTransphobia #TimeToChange End
#Solidarity to 400+ trans people working for the BBC. Their employer this week defending a tiny step to trans inclusion "The BBC isn’t requiring anyone to do anything; there is simply a staff article on our intranet that talks about gender identity at work & the use of pronouns."
If you have learnt anything and feel like donating to some amazing charities & initiatives helping to support trans people (especially LGBT children & young people), I can recommend: @aktcharity; @Genderintell @Mermaids_Gender @COLOURSyouthuk. Also Employ Trans people!
You can follow @DadTrans.
