Traditional weight lifting is terribly inefficient.

If you want to build muscle quickly, get on the eccentric contraction train.

Choo choo.
Traditional lifting relies on the principle of concentric contraction, meaning you're shortening a muscle with a heavy weight.
Examples: biceps curls, hamstring curls, situps.

Eccentric is the opposite, lengthening the muscle with weight.
Examples of eccentrics: Nordic hamstring curls, pull ups but focusing on the lowering.

Eccentrics also decrease injury rates, but lead to more muscle soreness the day after.

To fix it? Do mild exercise of the same muscle group the next day (DONT REST).
