Let me tell y'all something: Classroom teachers may as well forget all about "social distancing" at school. It just ain't gonna happen. You may as well be herding cats. Sanitation, hygiene & prayer is what will save us. Don't even waste your time trying to keep kids apart.
Wear your masks and other forms of PPE as mandated by your jurisdiction. CLEAN EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME. And wash your hands like your life depends on it. But that social distancing? That's a wrap. Don't even bother. You won't have time to actually teach anything.
So far, all I have been teaching is hand washing & "keep you mask on, Sweetie."
One of the kids took his mask off and threw it over the playground gate. Another one takes it off just so he can get any teacher that's close to put it back on for him. It's his favorite game so far.
And those isolation gowns are hot, even though it looks thin. Pair that with the face shield & mask, I was too damn hot to play with the kids on the playground. Whew! It's a lot.
We didn't know we would have to wear the face shields & gowns when we came back to work last week. The mandate just came down a few days ago.
