One of the worst interpretations of cancel culture I've heard. If people were simply ignoring people they disagreed with, cancel culture wouldn't exist as a concept at all.

"Odds are" - are just that. If you're going to just hand-wave it away entirely because a loud bunch of idiots who aren't cancelled are whining about being cancelled, then you're either wilfully ignoring the rest or being intentionally obtuse.
