Why is Matt Talbot Road in Tralee known as Ho Chi Minh Trail? @jerosullivanRK received 3 theories.
1. TD Pa Daly says it's because it was built in the 70s on the old railway line, around the time of the Vietnam War. There was controversy because it cut through old monastery land.
Theory 2: Another listener says it got the nickname because it took so long to complete - "You'd swear they were building the Ho Chi Minh Trail." Theory 3: RT in Tralee says in the early days, the surface of the road was very bad that it was considered ...
..to be on a par with that of the Ho Chi Minh Trail. RT says this was before there was proper government allocation to lay down a good underlayer & a good rolling tarmacadamed surface. Which theory's right? Help us solve the Ho Chi Minh Matt Talbot Revolutionary Road mystery!🕵️
