NEW Today: Cases up 60% since April peak.

It’s not just TX, FL and AZ. 2/3 of states that have seen extended decline have now reversed.
Percent positives are now back to 10% where we haven’t been since May 6 & it continues to grow. Testing peaked. Backlogs are a week or more.

We are failing to provide the needed testing. This means that CV is being spread rapidly by many RIGHT NOW who don’t know it.
Because we can’t see it, lack of testing PROLONGS THE PEAK.
Hospitalizations are up this week by 2,300 in TX, 1K in CA, 500 in AZ, 673 in GA.

Hope & logic & some evidence is that death rates are declining. This likely means longer hospitalizations & capacity and labor challenges.
Deaths began to climb 3 days ago & are climbing each day. AZ, TX and FL are driving it. Even as the rate improves, the number of deaths will continue to grow.
It’s mid-July and we are close to losing our ability to test for COVID-19 at least for some time.
We are living through the failure of May in July. Our chance to salvage a better September is today.
