Be good to yourself.
You’re surviving a pandemic. If you’re Black you’re surviving 2.
You’re living where you work. Or deemed essential & not paid like it.
You’re raising children in quarantine. You’re caring for elders in the same.
You’re still here. Be good to yourself.

In some ways we’ve settled into this life and in others it’s coming persistently harder the longer it goes on.
There are new threats, new worries, new peaks, new valleys, new rules, new regulations, new expectations, and altogether more time and not enough time.
This is hard.

I think in some ways, because this is no longer novel socially, we’ve relaxed in being good to ourselves.
Our calendars filled back up. The pressure mounted again. The weight of it all seems to be ignored by those who have expectations of us.
But be good to yourself anyway.

You’re still here.
That’s a win.
