Mini thread on why P5’s want to eliminate nonconference games (especially football). Obviously the safety risk of traveling and then playing is the same no matter the opponent. In some cases (CU taking a bus to FOCO) it’s less.

Problem is testing and health protocols... (1/3)
...NCAA has no uniform policy. A conference can set the policy for testing, tracing, health practices, sharing info, etc so everyone is level on tracking the virus.

Worry is many smaller conferences won’t be at same level (somewhat fair because more tests = more $$)... (2/3)
...that’s why Joe Parker said yesterday he’s told CU that CSU will match Pac12 protocols and even said Canvas will be the safest environment they’ll visit all year.
