More election updates!

This past week, our team, with the help of some amazing volunteers, poured over the absentee ballot data. Because there are so many ballots yet to be counted, we wanted to bring this data to life.
When COVID-19 hit and absentee ballots were made available upon request, our focus was to educate people about this process. As a result of our hard work and the work of others in the community, almost 26,000 people in AD57 requested a ballot so they could safely vote from home.
This map represents the ballot requests based on election districts in Assembly District 57. As you can see, in some EDs close to 50% of registered Democrats requested a ballot. This map shows that all of our hard work to get people the right information paid off.
And all these requests translated into almost 15,000 (!) returned ballots, which is greater than the number of in-person votes on election day. This is all to say that this election is far from over.
Lastly, based on what we know from the BOE it looks like our count may begin next week. This isn't confirmed, but this is what looks likely. Thanks for hanging in there and we promise to keep you all posted
