It’s an interesting point I’ve seen a few others mention. Had dividends been doubled the Index would have rocketed. But, it would have been the same old users depositing. Prices would have ballooned but prospective new users would maybe be put off investing. 1/5 #Footballindex
The most important thing for me, bar the financial viability of FI, is not short term rockets but that it expands its user base dramatically in the short, medium and long term. Expanding the user base will be what keeps this product developing and growing. 2/5 #Footballindex
Some will say that the only way to attract new users is through bigger dividends. Partly true. But don’t forget that we’ve now had two dividend increases in the last 9 months. Plenty were saying the top was undervalued under the div structure we had 2 days ago. 3/5 #Footballindex
I can’t argue that many will have found the announcement underwhelming. I’m actually happy with it. FI don’t help themselves hyping these announcements. However, the Twitter community in particular, whips itself into an unpleasable frenzy before each one. 4/5 #Footballindex
Finally, let’s not forget that #Footballindex does not operate in a vacuum. There is a global pandemic. We are in the early stages of what might be the largest economic crisis in living memory. Despite this FI have stabilized the market and raised dividends. 5/5 #Footballindex
