Between 2010 and 2015, Joe Hart won 4 Golden Gloves. That is the joint most Golden Gloves a keeper has ever won, along with Petr Cech, in just five years. No defence to thank either, in defence he had Savic, Nastasic, Mangala, Demichelis and Lescott.
He had to earn these Golden Gloves as well. He has made 941 Premier League saves, only 74 less than Cech, more than Van Der Sar, De Gea, Reina, Courtois, Lehmann and Pickford. If you need proof of how world class a lot are, check this out:
His saves weren't just regular, they were QUALITY 👌. Not to mention some superb games he hsd, particularly the game he had in the 0-0 draw against Tottenham for Manchester City when he kept out that Defoe rocket, the game that essentially won City the league (1-0 Vs United 2012)
And of course the 2015 Champions League game against Barcelona, when Lionel Messi called him a "phenomenon" as he made ten saves to keep Barcelona at bay, including a Lionel Messi penalty. Played pretty well against their arch rivals, too.
That's not to mention games against Crystal Palace, Hull, United (2014), Borussia Dortmund (2012), Everton (2014), and the 5 clean sheets in a row he kept at the start of the 2015-16 season.
But enough about games - what about the SEASON he was in the TOTS, playing for Birmingham City? Absolutely world class that season. Hart managed to make sure Birmingham City finished 9th. The Blues were relegation favourites. 👏👏
Then there are the corner dominance statistics. He leads the league for high claims and punches, such was his dominance for set pieces in 2010-15. Big part of that 4 Golden Gloves thing. He made 269 punches and 391 high claims, more than de Gea, Courtois or Schmeichel.
He was thrown out for not having the skills of a winger
In short, it's hard to sum up quite how great Joe Hart was from 2009 to 2015. He was incredible, so much so that he dominated the stat pads among all goalkeepers during that time. His athleticism made him the absolute beast who won 2 league titles, an FA Cup and a League Cup.
He may have sadly faded away due to mismanagement, but no one should ever forget just how fantastic a goalkeeper he really was. ❤️❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
