Today marks one year since @StaffMoorlandDC declared a #ClimateEmergency and, whilst the world has changed a great deal since then, our commitment to tackling #ClimateChange remains the same.

Working with @KeeleUniversity & @KeeleGGE to increase councillors' & officers' knowledge of climate science Influencing the national & local debate with MPs, @DefraGovUK, Staffordshire Climate Matters network, @StaffordshireCC, neighbouring LAs & the parish & town councils
Building partnerships with local businesses & industries such as @LafargeCauldon, @StaffsChambers, Midlands Energy Hub & many others £10,000 Staffordshire Moorlands Climate Change Community Fund agreed Investigating renewable energy projects such as solar & wind power
We now have a once in a lifetime chance to change our behaviours and act on #ClimateChange and I'm proud of the ground we've covered so far. But we have much more to do – I'm very much looking forward to getting on with it as restrictions continue to gradually ease.
I'm determined that we will reach #NetZero as a district by 2030. Our #GreenRecovery in the Staffordshire Moorlands will be a science-led, clean and resilient one – and the actions we take today will ensure we leave our environment in a better state than we inherited it.
