A very short thread on why Boruto is not your typical cliche shonen anime and has potenial to be better than most shonen’s going on today.
As many shonen fans can agree The Boruto anime is not your typical shonen anime because of the time that it’s set in .A time of peace where minimal action happens unlike many other http://shonen.So it basically can be called a slice of life at some moments.
Boruto is a character unlike most shonen mc’s where he is not the underdog or person who has nothing going for him but a person with everything going for him “A Natural Prodigy “ where as characters such as eg (Naruto) are not.
Most shonen cliche stories start with the Mc’s shouting out there goals or saying they will become this or do that .Where as Boruto doesn’t have a specific main goal as of now (except to be a shinobi like Saskue) but that is a side one that will be overcome in chapters to come.
“Zero to Hero “ or from “Nothing to Something” are also stories that most shonen Mc’s are emphasized on .But for Boruto we will see a boy who had everything friends,family and love all around him to nothing but pain and suffering which makes it more interesting.
Shonen demographics are set for the age of mainly 12-18 where as Boruto partially doesn’t because Kishimoto said that he wanted to focus more on the younger shonen fans that’s why Boruto isnt particularly dark anime and it will get darker as those younger fans grow up +
+where as when comparing it to Naruto it has always seen to be dark.
Even with the slightly slow start of Boruto ,and sometimes the odd powerscaling Boruto is a really good anime.The reason I believe why Boruto can become Better than most shonen anime running .Is because we have never seen anything like this before the story makes it interesting+
+and intriguing. From colorful and a bit childish to dark in an instant.I truly believe if the anime does the manga justice ( like it always does) boruto will truly be a great anime and get all of the recognition that it deserves .
