Wanted to share this with everyone.

Yesterday, I was invited to spend around two hours on a video call, along with representatives from other #SAFC fan groups, by the Sunderland Echo. The purpose of the chat was so we could offer the Echo feedback on their football coverage.
The chat was very honest, and in truth I just wanted to note publicly that this actually happened. It's good that the Echo have recognised that some fans aren't happy with the local media's coverage of the football club, and wanted to know what they can do to improve or change.
There's been a lot of talk this week about this particular subject on social media. I personally feel as though the fanbase is poorly represented when it comes to the media as a whole, which is why websites and podcasts like ours even exist - to fill the gap in the coverage.
I think the discussion was frank, and went really well, with Ross Gregory from the Sunderland Echo particularly receptive to the feedback I and the others on the call gave. Ross seems really keen to ensure our local paper are listening at such a tough time for the football club.
Simply put, this godforsaken football club is the centre of our bloody universe. If we didn't have it, Roker Report wouldn't exist. The same probably goes for the Echo.

So, working together to ensure #SAFC has a bright future can only be a positive thing.
I believe that we can all do more to highlight important issues, to bring inaccuracies to the fore so that fans are made fully aware of them, and to enact POSITIVE change.

Anyone who thinks that what they're doing currently is good enough, is sadly kidding themselves.
They've approached us in order to listen; to gain feedback. This can only be a good thing, not only for their readership and their newspaper, but for the fans and the football club.
So, kudos to the Sunderland Echo. Instead of sticking their fingers in their ears, they're doing something about it.

Just thought it was worth mentioning.
