.) THREAD:

It’s disheartening how quickly we Christians choose extreme sides and lack balance on so many issues. And at the same time don’t understand how devastating this is to the Church.
.) Clear Examples: If we don’t support Trump, we falsely believe we must always call out the bad and never commend some of the good. If we don’t support Biden, we falsely believe we must call out only the bad and never commend some of the good.
.) If we support border security, we falsely believe we cannot support compassion to Immigrants. If we support compassion to Immigrants, we falsely believe we cannot support border security.
.) If we are pro-life for unborn babies, we falsely believe we cannot be merciful and befriend those mothers contemplating abortion. If we call out White privilege, we falsely believe we cannot commend those White Christians who are standing up for minorities of color.
.) If we don’t support Trump, we falsely believe we cannot pray for him. If we don’t support Biden, we falsely believe we cannot pray for him. If we disagree with someone’s political opinions, we falsely believe we must stay away from the person and hate them.
.) If we believe Black Lives Matter, we falsely believe we must abolish all police departments. If we want Migrant families to stay together as families, we falsely believe we must completely get rid of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and (CBP).
.) If we call out the injustices in America, we falsely believe we cannot celebrate some of the good in America. If Immigrants come to the US, we falsely believe all of them are a drain on the economy and vicious criminals.
.) If Refugees come to the US, we falsely believe all of them are potential terrorists. If White people are privileged or conservatives or Trump supporters, we falsely believe they’re all racists.
.) If people are progressive, we falsely believe they don’t care about unborn babies and are liberal socialists.
.) This is terrible to believe these extreme generalities all of the time. It’s very hurtful to the conversation. It creates more division. There needs to be more balance and less extremism. We Christians need to do better here. We need more balance.
