Seeing all the school reopening discussions is heartbreaking. If it wasn't obvious enough from the increasing virus numbers that this will be a debacle, Aug/Sept is when all the most gnarly astro-weather hits, exactly when most schools start for the fall. 1/x
Mars will already be slowing down towards fall bc of impending retrograde; from mid-Aug to end of Sept, will be square Saturn within 3 degrees or less. This can coincide with an obstacle to action, possibly followed by a necessary change of plans as Mars goes retro Sept 9. 2/x
Not to overly simplify, but Saturn is the longer transit that Mars is running into - and particularly in Capricorn, Saturn is about whether you've done everything according to a long-term plan. Clearly we haven't in the U.S., thus worse-than-average situation now. 3/x
One of the themes of these transits in Capricorn is proper authority and planning. This situation seems to be illustrating the role of positive hierarchy or authority - i.e., there are some situations in which absolute coordination is essential. Like a pandemic, for instance. 4/x
In the absence of that, you don't get to just fake it or pass off the blame - Saturnian situations require you to work, and if you don't, you see the real-time consequences. Unfortunately, we're getting to collectively see that lately. 5/x
I'm hoping that enough people will raise voices around this plan being mostly wishful thinking, but right now it looks like teachers will have to openly boycott, or local leaders will have to say it's not happening. Either way, families aren't in any better position. 6/x
Again, back to the Saturn/Pluto in Capricorn. In its most positive manifestation, that would be responsible leadership around necessary constraints, sober and long-term planning in a situation that is bigger than oneself. Currently, that is decidedly not what we have. 7/x
Not that any school planners are probably listening to me, but if they were, I would definitely recommend sidestepping that Aug/Sept cluster, because it looks to be messy already. Best case scenario, even if there are plans to open, those will probably have to change later. 8/8
