I like The Rise Of Skywalker for what it is but still miss what it could have been. I love Rey Skywalker but still prefer Rey Nobody. I don’t think JJ is racist/sexist but I hate how they did Rose over. I like the ending but would have preferred Ben to live. (I miss my boy) 
I don’t like seeing the daily TROS dissection but I understand that some people are processing. If you love TROS you are not ‘TFM’, if you hate it and express that a lot you’re still not ‘TFM’. There ARE people on both sides who take it too far though.
As someone who loves Rian & TLJ so started an account because of it and dived into SW discourse for the first time, got knee deep in the Reylo vibe and ate up the Cambellian myth podcasts I do deeply understand the pain of some who wanted the HEA (for good reason).
I also understand that people like SW in different ways and for different reasons and I guess in my case I just switched to finding what way I could enjoy the film on its terms and hey it worked (not saying you should have to or would want to - I would have preferred TLJ 2!)
I guess I’m just saying that I’m just one example of one experience & there’s multiple different ways to experience the films so just try to be kind. Not everything is binary & we don’t have to set up camp and fire over the parapet to make a point of validating our own feelings.
You can be extremely intelligent and present a thoughtful well written argument & still be a dick as well as not be quite as articulate or well read and still have a point. And this is ALL sides. I’m not sure why I’m even posting but I’m just dying for nuance instead of anger.
To all my fellow TROS lovers: lots of love to you, can’t wait to discuss it further! To all the TROS haters: I feel for you, more love to you (if you love TLJ look forward to Rian’s return). And to all the people in the middle, hold on guys Mandalorian is a-comin’!
