The State of Ohio decided today that Pickaway County is a “Level 3/Red” county. This decision was made without input from any local agency. We were given 2 hrs notice before it was announced. Since March 1, outside the state’s prison, we’ve had 200 cases (0.3% of our population).
There have been 4 deaths (0.007% of our population) from #COVIDー19 since March 1. In announcing the cause for this change to “Level 3”, the Governor stated that our average daily positive cases have increased from 1 per day to 4 per day.
Pickaway County government has continued working and providing services uninterrupted since day one of this #COVIDー19 situation and we will continue to do so. My full statement: https://www.facebook.com/198594256876561/posts/3077296632339628/
Last week Pickaway County government partnered w/ a local health provider to host a drive-in #COVIDー19 testing site. 400 tests were administered, 8 people were positive (2%). The State sees these as bad metrics? What happened to flattening the curve en route to herd immunity?
