Ok here goes! @MetroSchools will begin the first month of school virtually. I think this is the best course of action considering our COVID numbers in this area have increased considerably and we’ve had to scale back in our re-opening phases. 1/
I totally understand parents have to work, but I also believe health + safety must be a priority. I feel confident in saying I believe our @MetroSchools administration brought a variety of voices to the table and created an extremely thought out plan for going back to school. 2/

A few things they’ve considered that I appreciate:
-a plan of action for ELL and SPED
-breakfast + lunch accommodations
-device deployment prioritized by need until all purchased devices arrive
-PPE for staff and students

Also appreciate the steps to create PD that focuses on teaching in a virtual environment and health and wellness.
