Jovic’s poor debut season, owes alot to Zidane’s poor management of him, make absolutely no mistake about it.

Between the game vs Valencia in December, to the 2nd match after restart against Valencia, Benzema scored only 3 goals, & struggled for form throughout.

Dropped 3 of his worst performances of the season in the space of 5 matches vs Celta, Levante & Betis, missing a combined total of seven (7) big chances, & costing 8 points.

Any other season, & this was the title gone.

Despite performances, the likes of which if were in any other season, would’ve certainly costed us the title, Benzema for some reason still started every match.

& Jovic got to play a grand total of 374 minutes in these 8 months, only 95 of which were in league. Curious.

Of the 10 appearances that he made, 6 were less than 20 minutes. He still got a goal & 2 assists, & everyone who watched will know if he wasn’t extremely unlucky he would’ve scored much more.

So it’s absolutely beyond me then, how you sign one of the best young strikers in the world who had 27 goals last season playing in an inferior team, barely give him an opportunity in a new league & team, & declare him a failure.

Deserves another season with unbiased selection.
