Going to make a bit of a prediction of how the new centralised wire 'may' look across Reach.
The middle of 'the book' - as it's called - will be standardised, so the same content and layout is done by a central team.
The outer pages will have some regional identity to give the appearance of being local, but this will be minimum.
Main focus will be the websites and the new central wire.
A bit like the setup used by the Press Association. Reporters and togs in those regions feed stories into the 'wire'.
That way, the commercial/advertising teams can pretty charge larger sums for the centre of the book and less for the outer, which will be for main local advertising.

Pretty much called all this 10 years ago. Sad to see. It's cutting news back to the min for profit. Nothing else.
