My top 10 NBA players of all time.

Note: the 1-5 spots are all very close, and any order would make sense to me. Also, the 6-10 spots are very close, *almost* any order makes sense.

Honorable Mentions: Jerry West, Shaquille O’Neal, and Hakeem Olajuwon. All had amazing careers and just barley missed the cut. Sorry @WestFanClubCEO
10. George Mikan
5x BAA/NBA Champion, 2x NBL Champion, *1948 NBL MVP. Mikan was one of the original superstars in the NBA, and the associated press voted him the greatest player of the first half of the century.
Peak George Mikan averaged 28.3 points, *14 rebounds, and won the BAA championship in 1949. The Minneapolis Lakers beat the Washington Capitals in 6 games, Mikan averaged 27.5 that series. A true pioneer of the game.
*The NBA didn’t have an MVP award until 1955, and in 1949 there is no rebound data available, so I went off his averages from the next season.
9. Kobe Bryant- RIP 💜 💛
5x NBA champion, 2x Finals MVP, he was the 2008 NBA MVP. Kobe was one of the greatest scorers ever, and he inspired a whole generation of players.
In Kobe’s first NBA finals win without Shaq, he averaged 32.4-5.6-7.4 (PPG-RPG-APG) and was named FMVP after beating Dwight Howard’s magic in 5 games.
8. Larry Bird
3x NBA champion, 2x Finals MVP, and won three straight MVPs from 1984-1986. Larry Bird was one of the best all around players of all time, he had almost no flaws.
Bird was one of the best 3pt shooters of his era and of all time, winning three straight 3PT contests (86-88) a record that still stands today.
7. Tim Duncan
5x NBA champion, 3x Finals MVP, and won back to back MVPs in 2002 and 2003. Tim Duncan is one of the greatest winners in NBA history, his resume is nearly perfect.
Tim Duncan is widely regarded as the greatest PF to ever play. He was such a good winner and player, that the spurs never won less than 50 games when he was playing for them (not including the 98-99 50 game lockout season)
6. Magic Johnson
5x NBA champion, 3x Finals MVP, he was the 1987, 1989, and 1990 NBA MVP
Magic is the greatest passer of all time, and is viewed by everyone as the best PG ever. The Larry Bird and Magic Johnson rivalry transcended the NBA
One of Magic’s greatest accomplishments came in just his rookie year. On May 16, 1980, in game 6 of the NBA finals the Lakers played the Sixers. With Kareem not playing, Magic stepped up and dropped 42-15-7 to help the lakers take home their first championship since 1973.
5. Wilt Chamberlain
2x NBA champion, *1x Finals MVP, and the 1960, 1966, 1967, 1968 NBA MVP. Wilt is viewed by many as the most dominant player ever, and he holds 72 NBA records.
Wilt Chamberlain is known for many things, like his 55 rebound game, and his insane athleticism. But his most impressive accomplishment came on March 2nd, 1962 in Hershey, Pennsylvania. On that day, Wilt scored 100 points in a single NBA game. A record that still stands today.
4. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
6x NBA champion, 2x Finals MVP, 1971, 1972, 1974, 1976, 1977, 1980 NBA MVP. Kareem holds the record for most career points and most MVPs ever.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar might be the most decorated basketball player of all time. At his retirement in 1989, he was the all time leading scorer, the all time blocks leader (currently Hakeem) and had the most seasons played by any player, on top of his countless other accomplishments
3. Bill Russell
11x NBA champion, Finals MVP award named after him, 1958, 1961, 1962, 1963, and 1965 NBA MVP.
Bill Russell was the greatest defender and winner in NBA history.
Bill Russell had a lot of amazing performances in the NBA finals. One of them came in 1962, game 7 vs the LA Lakers. Bill who wasn’t known for his scoring put up 30 points, and 40(!!!) rebounds in a game that went to overtime. The Celtics won the game 110-107 and secured ring #5
2. Lebron James
3x NBA champion, 3x Finals MVP, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013 NBA MVP
Lebron is one of the best player of all time, and he’s been elite since day 1.
Lebron has accomplished so much in his career it’s hard to name all the things he’s done. His most impressive feat came during the 2016 NBA finals, when he came back from a 3-1 deficit against the Golden State Warriors, to bring the Cavaliers there first NBA title in team history
1. Michael Jordan
6x NBA champion, 6x Finals MVP, 1988, 1991, 1992, 1996, 1998 NBA MVP.
Mike was one of the greatest dunkers, scorers, and two way players ever. He could do it all.
Michael Jordan had a lot of iconic moments, but his most memorable one came on June 14, 1998.
