First, the good news:
"Sally I know we haven't talked in awhile but I wanted to say I'm finally seeing your point about Black people being treated differently by the police. And that's hard for me to say."
If you knew this person, you'd understand what a turnaround this is.

The Left always overplays their hand and drags the rest of us down with them.

IDK if it's everywhere but there's an ad running on DC cable about "Defund the Police"

We scoff at "culture wars" but these things matter to voters we need.
My GOP friends say we lost 2016 because we trotted out Bernie and Warren the last two weeks and reminded people about taxes and socialism.
We know there were other factors but I'm sure that didn't help.

So, two steps forward, one step back.
The original thread is about how many people are moving in our direction. That's still a positive development.
We have to make sure we don't scare them off with performative bullshit.

This is an important point that I'd like to emphasize.
We don't need to "appease" the Bernie Left.
Let them keep squawking about socialized medicine and rigged primaries and banning cheeseburgers (GND)
They're making us look good to voters we need.
