Those who are considering public speaking but are scared to take the leap, let me offer a tip.
Be yourself.
You dont have to fit the mold of what you see. I don't. I bring MY comfort to the stage. You're getting Beyonce references, dancing, my fav Netflix shows...AND tech.

. @codermeow is another speaker who does this. She stood in front of a predominantly white male audience and talked about JavaScript promises by using analogies to her natural hair care routine. You think these men know much about detangling 4a hair? No, but Twitter exploded 
While the stage may be a square, it doesn't have to be a box. Have fun, be yourself, and give the people what they didn't even realize they needed!
