/ All my life, everytime I would join a gym I would seek out a personal trainer to help me get in shape and give some advice on losing weight. Everytime I would get the same advice and routine...
/ The personal trainer would always start by warming me up on a treadmill then would write me out a generic starter workout and quickly show me how to do the exercises if I didn't know how...
/ This may have been because they were free PTs with memberships or because they weren't really expensive. Regardles they were certified PTs and had an obligation to do better...
/ One thing I noticed was if the client was young, fit, attractive, or didn't have much to lose, most of the PTs would spend more time, attention and got better personal treatment then an elderly, obese or special needs client....
/ Regardless of my observation the fact remained that most people were instantly put on the hamster wheel and given a crap exercise routine without any kind of assessment for deviations or level of fitness....
/ This is negligent AF, every person should get an assessment for deviations & current fitness level before doing any kind of fitness activity. Now that I currently hold a certification for PT I know everything I experienced prior was BS...
/ Not only is just throwing obese, elderly, or people out of shape or new to exercise on a treadmill & given a weighted exercise routine irresponsible & dangerous it's quickest way to turn someone off from exercise....I will not be this kind of personal trainer. END.
