*this is my personal opinion*
as someone who grew up with a mental illness that was mocked, rather than romanticized... I think language is super important

I make fun of myself & love self-deprecating humor but dying your hair impulsively is not a “mental breakdown”
being super organized and clean does not mean you have OCD
“I’m gonna kill myself” over a minor inconvenience isn’t funny
being nervous or anxious is completely normal. don’t lie about having a panic attack if you didn’t actually have one!
being sad as a result of a negative experience does not mean you are clinically depressed! your feelings are valid, but don’t diagnose yourself as a way to be ~relatable~ plz
and lastly, having mood swings over the course of a day is not “being bipolar”
if you had a pain in your side, you wouldn’t go around saying “omg I have pancreatitis lol” so don’t claim a mental illness you don’t have bc the people that have them are actively trying to live & heal from something that torments their wellbeing ok bye
oh and lastly, DONT CALL YOURSELF A CRACKHEAD OR ALCOHOLIC AS A JOKE. You might get a lil buckwild but when I see kids talk about addiction bc they had 4 whiteclaws as if it’s not a life ruining disease, its rly triggering !!!
