Thought I'd put together a small thread on possibilities during a Biden administration.
I would like to preface this by saying my personal politics are FAR to the left of the democratic party, and Joe Biden is a terrible choice for president.
That said, here we go: https://twitter.com/ZachandMattShow/status/1281058001777053696

Taxes:
Biden has stated he wants to repeal the Trump tax cuts, which were nothing but a massive giveaway to the rich. Most dems and maybe even a Republican could agree to this.
He also wants:
Lift the cap on SS
Raise estate tax
Raise capital gains
All of it is possible.

Climate:
Biden plans on undoing many Trump era EOs on climate, like reinstating clean water/air act.
He also wants to re enter the Paris treaty, which by itself isnt enough, but international cooperation is key when it comes to eliminating fossil fuel.
Carbon tax likely too.

Healthcare:
Biden has a (weak) public option plan as part of an Obamacare expansion. His plan would lower the cost of prescription drugs too.
It's not M4A, but it's MUCH preferred to the full repeal of Obamacare planned under a second term for Trump.

Additionally, Biden wouldn't pull out of the WHO during a fucking pandemic, and be would have ensured federal testing assistance be available.
The stimulus would be much better if this is an indication: https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2020/05/12/politics/second-stimulus-check-proposal-democrats/index.html

IR:
This is an area where the damage Trump has done to the US is truly underrated. We live in a global economy, and international cooperation is vital for any type of real world change to occur.
Not only has Trump refused to work with moderate forces, he has put WWIII in play.

Biden will work with the G7 to re enter the critical Iran deal.
Biden is in no way anti war, and his intention of a Venezuelan coup should be vehemently opposed, but foreign policy should be approached in a more modern and rational manner than under Trumpist nationalism.

As the author of the '94 crime bill, Biden deserves criticism. That being said, he will not be taking to Twitter to blow a foghorn to white nationalist factions in the middle of one of the most critical moments in our nation's history with respect to racial relations.

Entitlements:
Biden has in the past stated he wanted to cut SS and Medicare. Its possible he still does, but with a democratic congress and Senate, it's very unlikely. His SS cap expansion suggests otherwise too.
Its *much* more likely to be cut under Trump and McConnell.

I've probably missed out on some things, but there you have it.
Progress can be made under Biden, but as always its important to remember that change doesnt normally come from DC, but popular movement and technological advances.
The president only needs to encourage them.

Lastly, it appears there is a MAJOR opportunity for progress I have posted about before called "the great reset." Biden is much more likely to cooperate on this initiative, not only with fellow statemen but activist groups as well. https://twitter.com/TheEternal_now/status/1276394386067202048?s=19
