Here is a thread of all the activists/students arrested for PROTESTING against CAA-NRC. If I have missed someone please let me know and I'll add to them to the thread.

Sharjeel Imam, 28 phD scholar JNU. Imam completed his masters from IIT Bombay and was pursuing his phD in Historical studies. He was arrested because of a speech he made calling for a "Chakka Jam" but was framed as a separatist.

Safoora Zargar, 27 M Phil student Jamia. She was arrested on August 10 when she was 3 months pregnant. She was arrested under UAPA as some out of context portions of speech were made viral via SM.

Shajeel Usmani, 23 Student AMU. Sharjeel was KIDNAPPED yesterday by 5 policemen in plain clothes. Azamgarh Police says they don't know about the arrest while stating He was arrested by Lucknow Police. He led protests at AMU and have been vocal, writing articles against CAA-NRC

Dr. Kafeel Khan, 38 MD in Pediatrics, Health activist. He has been targeted by Yogi govt since 2017. Recently he was arrested for a part of speech in which he said "Tumhari aukat nahi hai tum hime hata sako, hum 25 cr hain". He said that he is scared for his life.

Dr. Umar Khalid, 32 phD holder JNU alumni. Along with Safoora and Meeran Haider he was booked under UAPA again where out of context parts of his speech were made viral. He is no under arrest as of now.

Meeran Haider, 32 phD scholar Jamia, President RJD Delhi'sYouth Wing. Haider along with Safoora was arrested and booked under UAPA for protesting against CAA-NRC even though the protests were peaceful. He was active in organizing protests against CAA-NRC.

Asif Tanha, 24 Third year BA Persian, Jamia, Member Student's Islamic Organisation(SIO) . Arrested and Booked Under UAPA for the Delhi Riots. Like many other Student Activists, Tanha was also arrested during the Lockdown.

Shifa-Ur-Rahman, President Jamia Alumini association. Arrested and booked under UAPA along with Safoora and Meeran. Acc to police, they have a CCTV footage in which he was seen in riot affected areas and allegedly incited the mob.

Natasha Narwal, Student JNU, 'Pinjra Tod' activist. Narwal was arrested firt for peacefully protesting outside Jafrabad metro station. The police filed an FIR for sloganeering after asking for being dispersered. Sections like attacking a police officer, artempt to murder and UAPA

Devangana Kalita, Pinjra Tod Activist . She was arrested along with Narwal. Named in 4 FIRs for participating in Draya Ganj protests and Jaffrabad Sit in protest.

Khalid Saifi, Political Activist, United Against Hate. He was in the forefront of Khureji Khas sitin protest. He was arrested in later February. He was tortured i the Police custody. He was produced before court on Mar 12, he had broken legs and was in wheel chair.

Ishrat Jahan, Advocate, Ex Congress Municipal councillor. Jahan was protesting peacefully for 49 days and was later arrested in connection with riots stated by police. She has been charged with serious sections. She's been a victim of Political Vendetta, Her lawyer says.

Farhan Zuberi, 22 Final year Masters in Social work Student, AMU. Zuberi was booked for attempt of murder and sedition. He and his friend were arrested when they were on their way to pick up a friend during lockdown. Later his friend was let go but Farhan was arrested on 11 chrgs

In second tweet (Relating to Sharjeel Imam) I have made an error. He was born in 1987, and hence is 32 yr old.

Akhil Gogoi, Indian Peasent Leader and RTI activist (KMSS). He has been booked by NIA under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) following his protests against CAA and is currently in judicial custody. He has been tested positive for COVID 19.

All Assam Student's Union. 1000s of members and workers of AASU and 30 other orgs, artists, activists of the state gathered in the capital of Assam to stage protest against CAA. Their slogan like 'Hoi CAA batil korok, nohole Aamak arrest korok' (Scrap CAA or Arrest us). All dtend

Amir Mintoee, one of the founding members of @AMUCC_Aligarh and a vocal Muslim student activist from Aligarh has been in the custody of Uppolice since April 15. Amir Mintoee was distributing food to those in need at a hospital in Aligarh when he was arrested. Via @ladeedafarzana

The Family of 21-year-old Sikh man, who was arrested by Delhi Police and two pistols recovered from him, has claimed that he was targeted solely for serving langar to the anti-CAA protesters at Shaheen Bagh in Delhi. Satnam Singh, elder brother of the accused Lovepreet Singh

Kris Chudawala, 22 Transgender student, TISS. Maidan Police Station in Mumbai registered a case against Kris Chudawala and 50 others for allegedly raising pro-Sharjeel Imam slogans on February 1 during the "Queer Azadi Gathering 2020" Kris has been granted Anticipatory bail.

Some Info that I was able to find about Gulfisha, she's a 25 yr old MBA student who took part in the Delhi’s Seelampur anti-CAA protests. She's also part of “Pinjra Tod,”. She was arrested on April 9. Image not available.

Amulya Leona Norhona, 19 Student activist. She was arrested for sedition after she raised slogan 'Pakistan Zindabad'. She's known as a great orator and hence was invited to speak that night on stage at an Anti CAA rally. She wanted to raise slogans for all countries but couldn't

Update: Amir Mintoee, gets bail in all the cases. He is one of the leading Muslim voices of dissent from Aligarh. He was in the custody of UP Police since April 15. He was distributing food at a hospital in Aligarh when he was arrested for anti CAA protests. Via: @NabiyaKhan11

Dharjya Konwar, Leader, Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), Assam. Arrested under UAPA by NIA for his role in Anti-CAA protest in December. He has been granted bail today.

Manas Konwar, the working president of Sattra Mukti Sangram Samiti (SMSS) – the student wing of KMSS, Assam. He was arrested under UAPA by NIA 7 months ago. He is on a hunger strike in Jail. He has been granted bail but hasn't released yet.

Update: In the prior tweet relating to Manas Konwar I made an error. He has been released three days back on Tuesday.

Bittu Sonowal, member KMSS, Assam. Arrested along with Akhil Gogoi. He has tested positive in the proson. A special court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday granted bail to Bittu Sonowal.

After 6 months since the lockdown was announced and in the fourth phase of unlock, AASU have resumed the protest against CAA by taking an torch rally at Dibroogadh on 1/09/20

Khalid Saifi gets bail from Karkardooma court.

He gets bail in one case, but he will still remain in jail because of 2 other cases
