Pink News / Benjamin Cohen are up to their usual dishonest polling tricks again.

PN have put out a new poll claiming huge public support for gender self-id. Extract from the results below. (1/6)

Note that although the Pink News headline (which I won't link to) includes a reference to GRA reform, the question asked by @YouGov in this poll DOES NOT REFER TO LEGAL GENDER OR THE GRA AT ALL. It's a very vague and woolly question. (2/6)

In July 2018, YouGov (again for Pink News) DID ask a question about legal self-id, and they got a VERY different response, with a huge majority (58%) against and only 18% in favour. Here are the full results. (3/6)

Pink News were so horrified by these results, that when they commissioned YouGov to do a follow-up poll in 2019, they made sure the legal question was dumped and a much more anodyne question put in its place. That's the same question they're using now. (4/6)

Owen Jones and all the usual suspects are already spinning this for all they are worth. Don't let them get away with it. Please point out to anybody using this poll as evidence of support for GRA reform that Pink News are a bunch of liars. (6/6)
