what a lot of people don’t realize is that we need people on both sides. it’s not a “we’re good, they’re bad, if everybody was like us, america would be perfect,” situation. liberals are the entrepreneurs, artists, actors (duh), of america (generally speaking), and

conservatives are the ones who get shit done. they’re the executives, leaders, accountants, etc. and both provide necessary benefits. like without liberals, gay people may not have the same constitutional rights as everyone (which is just one example and i know there are plenty

of conservatives who support the equal rights and opportunities of gay people, but it was the liberals’ idea), and for conservatives, they’re the ones who are probably going to be the voice of reason when shit hits the fan instead of causing chaos, acting impulsively out of

emotion, being self-righteous, going out and protesting and doing stupid shit like that, and making an endless variety of dramatic, showy, meaningless gestures. they keep their composure.
