This is the closest the England Cricket team will ever replicate a club cricket side; a thread

1. Rory Burns: works for a marketing agency wears club training kit and havaianas at all times

2. Dom Sibley: IT technician, pays his subs but only goes in the bar twice a year

3. Joe Denly: family man that had a few years out whilst his kids were born, wife brings them to every home match

4. Zak Crawley: misses first chunk of the season as he’s still at uni. Misses at least 2 games for holidays/festivals

5. Ben Stokes: turns up in his roofing van and often misses the meet time because he’s doing a private job. Always got a can of red bull on the go

6. Ollie Pope: another one back from uni, but as soon as he’s home he spends his time in the nets

7. Jos Buttler: school teacher, hard to get his availability but is good fun after some beers

8. Dom Bess: works at the local sports shop, always offering to do some TLC on teammates bats after they’ve got out. Mum makes a fantastic tea

9. Jofra Archer: turned up at the club one day and is such a good bowler walked straight into the first team, bowls absolute wheels and has his own stool at the bar

10. Mark Wood: joker of the club, always plans the socials. Won clubman of the year 3 years running

11. James Anderson: the expression on his face makes you wonder if he actually enjoys it but he’s the best bowler the clubs ever been and reluctantly runs the bar on a Saturday night. Hosts a great quiz as well
